For the obverse of the 2026 1 oz Gold Noah’s Ark Coin, the mint features a depiction of the national coat of arms. The national coat of arms of Armenia was adopted on April 19, 1992, and consists of an eagle and a lion supporting a shield. These ancient Armenian symbols date back to the first Armenian kingdoms that existed before Christ. The shield features four quadrants with heraldic creatures in each one, as well as a small rendering of Noah’s Ark at the center, atop Mount Ararat.
In the reverse design of the 2026 Armenian Gold Noah’s Ark Coin, the design depicts Noah’s Ark in the center of the motif, with a white dove carrying an olive branch flying toward the ark. In the background, Mount Ararat, where the ark’s journey ended according to scripture, rises alongside the sun, while the inscription “Noah’s Ark” appears in both Armenian and English lettering around the motif. Together, these elements create a richly symbolic scene that connects ancient biblical narrative to Armenia’s national heritage.
